چکیده

Mixed-oxide coated Ti0.8Mo0.2O2–C composite supported 20 wt% Pt electrocatalysts with Ti0.8Mo0.2O2/C=75/25 mass ratio were developed for CO tolerance of polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) anode. Studies the structure, composition and stability, as well results COads stripping confirmed that mixed oxide support electrocatalyst prepared this study show well-documented characteristics Pt/Ti1-xMoxO2-C systems enhanced compared to Pt/C catalyst. Dilution hydrogen CO2 CH4 had negligible negative impact on performance. Switching gas between reformate shows recovery potential after poisoning. Nevertheless, anode catalyst loading 0.25 0.5 mgPt/cm2 was not enough give reasonable performance when impurity present. Loading 0.85 effective 1000 mA/cm2 current density at 0.6 V under 25 ppm 30 psig. Higher needed transfer limited region overcome However, loadings higher than caused limitations. Hence is proposed 40 Pt/Ti0.8Mo0.2O2–C

CO-Tolerant Pt–BeO as a Novel Anode Electrocatalyst in Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells

Commercialization of proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs) requires less expensive catalysts and higher operating voltage. Substantial anodic overvoltage with the usage of reformed hydrogen fuel can be minimized by using CO-tolerant anode catalysts. Carbon-supported Pt–BeO is manufactured so that Pt particles with an average diameter of 4 nm are distributed on a carbon support. XPS analy...

Fault-Tolerant MPC Control of PEM Fuel Cells

In this paper, fault-tolerant MPC control of PEM fuel cells is addressed. MPC is a suitable control methodology to control fuel cell systems because of their multivariable and complex behaviour. Additionally, MPC is one of the control methodologies that can introduce more easily fault-tolerance. However, the problem of including actuator fault-tolerance in the control loops of these systems has...

Effect of Ptfe on Thermal Conductivity of Gas Diffusion Layers of Pem Fuel Cells

Through-plane thermal conductivity of 14 SIGRACET gas diffusion layers (GDLs), including series 24 & 34, as well as 25 & 35, are measured under different compressive pressures, ranging from 2 to 14 bar, at the temperature of around 60 ͦC. The effect of compression, PTFE loadings, and micro porous layer (MPL) on thermal conductivity of the GDLs and their contact resistance with an iron clamping s...

Study of Gas Diffusion Layers in Pem Fuel Cells

Fuel cells are electrochemical devices which convert chemical energy of a reacting fuel directly into electricity with high efficiency and no pollution. Proton Exchange/ Polymer Electrolyte Membrane (PEM) fuel cells are likely to be among one of the most promising energy sources for transportation, heating and power generation. Some of the key materials used in PEM fuel cells are catalysts, mem...
